Mamave Mumma's Oil and Mumma's Moisturiser: how to use them together

Created by Coolkidz Australia

Mumma's Oil and Mumma's Moisturiser are made to be used together on changing skin during pregnancy and after birth. This guide covers how to apply each one and what makes them different.

A pregnant woman massaging moisturiser into her bump.

Which does what

  • Mumma's Oil is a concentrated massage oil that supports skin elasticity, made for massaging into the bump, hips and thighs.
  • Mumma's Moisturiser is a daily cream for everyday hydration, with vitamin C rich pomegranate and cranberry extracts.
  • Mamave recommends using both together for the best results, Mumma's Moisturiser first and then Mumma's Oil.

How to apply

  1. Apply after a shower or bath while your skin is still slightly damp, as skin absorbs oils and creams better and locks in extra moisture. You can also apply to dry skin.
  2. Start with Mumma's Moisturiser. Apply it generously to your belly, thighs, hips and bottom, massaging in circular motions until fully absorbed.
  3. Follow with Mumma's Oil. Put a small amount in your hands and rub them together to warm it.
  4. Massage the oil gently into the same areas in circular motions, applying generously.
  5. Use each up to three times a day for best results.

Key ingredients

Mumma's Oil is a blend of safflower, sunflower, grape seed, camellia, jojoba, argan and evening primrose oils with natural vitamin E. The jojoba and argan are certified organic.

Mumma's Moisturiser includes mango seed butter, squalane, MCT oil, argan oil, aloe vera, pomegranate and cranberry extracts, and a plant derived vegan alternative to lanolin.

Both are lightly scented with lavender and frankincense essential oils, with no artificial fragrance.

Sizes and when to start

  • Mumma's Oil: 100mL bottle, travel mini 30mL
  • Mumma's Moisturiser: 250mL pump bottle, travel mini 30mL
  • How often: Up to 3 times a day
  • Scent: Lavender and frankincense essential oils

Mamave suggests starting as soon as you find out you are pregnant, and continuing postpartum. Both are formulated for adult skin, so you can keep using them when you are not pregnant.

About stretch marks

Mamave is clear that nothing can completely prevent stretch marks and it cannot guarantee prevention. Patch test first, and if you have questions about skincare in pregnancy, ask your GP, midwife or pharmacist.
