Frida Mom Labour & Delivery Kit and Postpartum Recovery Kit: what is in each

Frida Mom makes two kits. The Postpartum Recovery Kit holds the bathroom essentials for the first days after birth, and the Hospital Labour & Delivery Kit includes everything in the Recovery Kit plus the items for labour and the hospital bag.

What is in each kit

The gown and socks

• The gown has snap closures at the shoulders so midwives have monitoring access, with full coverage at the back.
• The front opens for skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding after birth.
• It has pockets for a phone and lip balm.
• It is 100% viscose (bamboo-derived). One size fits XS to XL, with room for late pregnancy.
• The labour socks are warm and non-slip for moving around during labour.

How the kit is used

1. Labour: gown and socks on (Labour & Delivery Kit).
2. Straight after birth: bend an Instant Ice Maxi Pad to activate it and place it in the disposable underwear.
3. First bathroom visit: rinse with warm water, place a liner on the pad and add Perineal Foam to the liner. The peri bottle is in the Labour & Delivery Kit or sold separately.
4. Hospital stay: sit the caddy on the toilet cistern so everything is within reach.
5. At home: move the caddy home and continue the same routine.

When to order and topping up

Order by 36 weeks so the kit is ready to pack with your hospital bag. Both kits suit recovery after a vaginal birth or a caesarean. The kits cover the hospital stay and the first days at home, and extra underwear, ice pads and liners are sold separately.
