The NoseFrida is a nasal aspirator you can use from birth. You create the suction yourself by breathing in through the mouthpiece, so you can feel the resistance and adjust it straight away. This guide covers how to use it, how to clean it and when to change the filter.

Before you start
- Put a new hygiene filter into the filter chamber. The filter sits between the collection chamber and the mouthpiece and keeps mucus away from you.
- Apply saline first. Put two to three drops in each nostril, then wait 20 to 30 seconds.
How to use it
- Rest the large tube against the outside of one nostril so it forms a seal. The tube does not go inside the nose.
- Breathe in steadily through the mouthpiece for two to three seconds while moving the tube in a small circle.
- Repeat, then swap to the other nostril.
Many parents find it most helpful before feeds, before sleep and first thing in the morning.
Cleaning
After each session, throw the used filter away. Wash the parts in warm soapy water, or put them on the top rack of the dishwasher.
Filters
- The NoseFrida itself is reusable. The filters are single use.
- Use a fresh filter every time and bin it afterwards.
- If suction feels weak, check the filter. A used or missing filter reduces suction.
- Four filters come in the box. Replacement filters are sold separately in packs of 20. Use genuine Frida filters, which are sized for the NoseFrida chamber.
- You may go through several filters in a day, so it helps to keep a spare pack in the change bag.
