Frida Baby 3-in-1 Nose, Nail and Ear Picker: which tip does what

The 3-in-1 Picker is a small grooming tool for dried mucus at the nostril opening, grit under tiny nails and visible wax at the outer ear. Every tip has a stopper so it cannot go too deep, and it is suitable from the newborn stage through toddlerhood.

What each tip is for

• Nose tip: lifts dried, crusty mucus from just inside the nostril opening, the bits the NoseFrida cannot move.
• Nail tip: cleans lint, milk and general grit from under tiny nails.
• Ear tip: clears visible wax from the outer ear only.
• Utility tip: for belly button fluff, neck rolls and between the toes.

The tips click into the handle. Use each tip only for its own job.

How to use it

1. Choose the tip you need and click it onto the handle.
2. Use it after a warm bath if you can. Steam softens dried mucus and wax so it lifts more easily.
3. Rest your hand against your baby's cheek to steady the head, so the picker moves with them if they turn.
4. Scoop gently outward with a light touch. If something does not come away easily, leave it for another day.
5. Wash the tips, dry them and put everything back in the case.

Picker or NoseFrida?

The NoseFrida uses suction for wet, runny mucus during a cold, with saline first. The Picker is for dry, crusty bits at the nostril opening, especially once a cold has passed. Many families use both.

Cleaning and storage

• Rinse the tips in warm soapy water after each use and let them air dry.
• Check the tips for wear before each use.
• Store everything in the case so the right tip is easy to find.
