When a Magic nappy bin is used correctly it should not let odours out. If yours has started to smell, the cause is usually the bag, the lid, or the position the bin is left in between changes. Work through these checks first.

Check the bag
- Make sure the bag is fitted correctly and has no holes or tears.
- Most plastic bags and standard bin liners will work, but better quality bags give better results.
- Avoid very thin supermarket shopping bags, as they may not seal properly.
- Magic nappy bags are made to fit the bin and are designed to help lock in odours for up to two weeks when used correctly.
Check the lid and position
- Close the top lid properly after every use.
- Leave the opening in the stand-by position, with the cup open and not with the rounded side facing up.
- Check that the bin itself is closed securely.
How to clean your bin
- Unscrew the drum holder, as shown in your manual, and take out the round drum.
- Wash all parts by hand in lukewarm water with a few tablespoons of baking soda and a little mild soap.
- Rinse everything well.
- Let every part air dry completely before you put the bin back together.
Do not put any part of the bin in the dishwasher.
Bag safety
Keep plastic bags away from children, and store bag rolls somewhere locked or out of reach.
