Zazu Emmy the Elephant breathing light: settings and power

Created by Coolkidz Australia

Emmy the Elephant combines a breathing light and sound, a red nightlight and a sound machine. Your child watches the light on the ceiling grow and shrink and follows its slow breathing rhythm while falling asleep.

Power and switching on

  • Emmy runs from the included USB cable connected to a compatible adapter (5V, maximum 3A), or from 3 AA alkaline batteries (not included).
  • When the USB cable is connected, the batteries are not used.
  • On batteries, use good quality alkaline batteries, the lowest nightlight brightness and the 20 minute timer for longer battery life.
  • Press the round button on the front, between Emmy's paws, to switch her on or off. She starts with the settings you used last.

Breathing light and nightlight

  • Breathing button: choose pulse light and breathing sound, pulse light only, breathing sound only, or off.
  • Frequency switch: 19 breaths per minute is generally suitable up to about 2 to 6 years, and 22 breaths per minute up to about 1 to 2 years.
  • Elephant button: sets the red nightlight to low, medium, high or off.
  • The breathing sound cannot be played at the same time as the sound machine melodies.

Sounds, timer and cry sensor

  • Music button: choose lullabies, white noise, African lounge or off.
  • Volume button: low, medium or high.
  • Timer switch: the light and music switch off after 20 or 40 minutes. Set the switch to off to keep them on all night.
  • Cry sensor switch: set it to on and the sensor is active for 12 hours. It starts after a 30 second delay, so it does not react while you put Emmy down.
  • Pressing the front button restarts the 12 hour cry sensor period.
  • Switching Emmy off with the front button does not turn off the cry sensor. Slide the cry sensor switch to off to stop it.

Good to know

Emmy is not a toy. The light is bright, so do not stare into it. Keep the cable out of reach, as long cables are a strangulation hazard. Emmy is not water resistant: wipe her with a damp cloth and never put her in water.
