The Reversible Cushion and the 3-point safety harness work together in Baby Chair mode. The cushion gives a younger baby comfort and support, and the harness keeps them safely in the seat.

What the cushion and Back Plate Support do
- The Reversible Cushion is designed for the youngest users, giving extra comfort while they learn to sit and find their balance.
- The Back Plate Support sits in a pocket inside the cushion and adds ergonomic support and stability while your baby is still learning to sit through a meal.
- The user manual notes that the Back Plate Support adds 7 cm in height.
- The cushion is reversible, so you choose which side faces up.
- As your child grows, you simply remove the cushion.
Unfolding the cushion
- Undo the double buttons to release the strap.
- Unfold the cushion, making sure the Back Plate Support is securely in its pocket.
- Line up the double buttons correctly and snap them together to secure the Back Plate Support.
Fitting the cushion and harness to the seat
- When you fit the seat support, thread the strap on the cushion around the fasteners on the seat support to hold the cushion in place.
- Choose which side of the cushion you want facing up and find the three openings.
- Thread the three harness straps through the openings.
- Click the side straps into the buckle on the centre strap.
Strapping your child in
- Pull the waist straps over your child's thighs, making sure they lie flat.
- Fasten the waist straps snugly around the waist, connecting them to the strap between the legs.
- Check that all three straps are snug but not too tight.
The how-to videos on the Hannie website include a short film on fitting the 3-point harness and Reversible Cushion.
Harness on, every time
Use the harness for every meal and snack, however short. The tray is not designed to hold your child in the seat. Until your child can get in and out of the seat without help, at about two and a half years, they must be secured with the harness at all times.
