MiaMily Carry On: features, packing and flying with it

Created by Coolkidz Australia

The Carry On is the original MiaMily ride-on: a cabin-size hard-shell suitcase with the patented built-in seat, a child seatbelt and a bag hook. Here is what your case includes and how to get the most from it.

  • Four 360° spinner wheels.
  • A telescopic handle with four heights.
  • A universal TSA combination lock with no key to lose.
  • An anti-scratch textured polycarbonate shell, designed to hide the scuffs of real travel.

Packing the clamshell

The Carry On opens in the centre into two halves, with five interior compartments so everything has a place. Because it is a clamshell, it opens out across the floor. If you would rather pack from the top into one deep space, that is how the Carry On Plus differs.

The Carry On has no front pocket, so keep the things you need in a queue, such as snacks, wipes and passports, in a backpack slid over the handle rather than inside the case.

Taking it on the plane

MiaMily designs the Carry On to fit most airline overhead compartments. Cabin allowances differ between Australian domestic carriers and international airlines, some are tighter than the international norm, and the weight limit is often the stricter rule. A packed 43 litres adds up, so check your carrier's size and weight limits before you fly.

The Carry On suits trips from a weekend to about a week, with one child riding and the case staying with you from door to gate. For longer trips, bulky packing or more than one child, the 77 litre Check In is the bigger option.

No wheel brake on this model

The original Carry On does not have a wheel brake. Only load your child on a flat surface, always fasten the belt and stay beside them. Never use the seat on escalators, stairs, travelators or slopes.
